Steel Day 2009
|
The American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) designated September 18, 2009 the first annual Steel Day in the United States. With the creation of Steel Day, 173 events highlighted the value of the steel construction industry leading to interaction and building relationships with architects, engineers, contractors, developers, owners and even schools/universities. Having been the first year of this wonderful day, feedback suggests that over 7000 people attended this event across the nation making it a huge success.
Out of the 173 events, Buckner Companies was proud to be one of the many locations hosting Steel Day. In fact, this event helped “open the doors” to our brand new facility for all of our customers, vendors, friends, family and community to see. To help make this day so special to all of our participants, Buckner held guided tours of the brand new facility, crane demonstrations, and a cook out for all that visited.
Elated by the turnout Buckner was able to have while hosting over 200 guests, Eddie Williams, CEO of Buckner Companies remarked “this day was a big success, not only for Buckner, but for the industry”.
While there is no set date for Steel Day 2010 yet, be on the lookout as things will only continue to ameliorate from this historic event.
